Children Learn by Doing

The three year olds meet on Mondays and Tuesdays.
The four year olds meet on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays.

Morning sessions: 8:30 AM - 11:30 AM
Afternoon sessions: 12:00 PM - 3:00 PM

Activities

Gross Motor Development
These activities include running, jumping, climbing.

Fine Motor Development
These activities include using scissors, stringing beads, and holding a pencil.

Blocks
These activities teach spacial relationships, math concepts, problem solving.

House Corner, including role playing and make believe
The ability to pretend is very important. Children recall experiences they’ve had and recreate real life experiences.

Table Toys
Activities include puzzles, legos, sorting, classifying.

Art
These activities encourage children to express their ideas, improve coordination, recognize colors, textures, and develop creativity.

Sand/Water
These activities develop mathematical thinking, as well as float/sink awareness.

Library
Children can relax and enjoy the world of children’s literature, develop reading skills, and a love of books!

Music & Movement
This gives the children a chance to move freely, and feel good about what their bodies can do)

The year is divided thematically, sometimes based on the season but more often on the world around us. The children will experience field trips; discovering our village fire department, exploring a farm or children’s museum. Guests, too, visit our school on special occasions, sharing their talents or stories.
